Dear Maryam,

I read your queries and I would like to recommend you that you should not take any powder to rise your appetite and rather I suggest to do regular exercise and if you are intended to elevate your weight you should do isometric exercise with some heavy objects similar to body building. if you have more queries pleasae do not hesitate to ask and send e.mail to my address as follows: yaredelgosha***.sg

I have found that working on a daily calorie intake of 1400 - 1600 works great for me. If I watch what I put in my mouth and I do some sort of exercise each day, I find the weight comes off slowly, but safely and I am never hungry. It's when I binge eat with high sugar foods that I get into trouble with the mid afternoon hunger thing.

Like you all said: The amount of calories we can eat a day depends on many factors but,to gain one pound you must eat 3500 calories a day. This means that if you eat 3500 or more calories you will gain weight and if you eat 2000 _ 2500 you going to loose weight. We can't eat less than 2000 calories a day because our metabolism going to be very slow. Lower calories diet only work for few days and then you get stock on the same weight.

How many calories one can eat in a day depends on a multitude of factors: height, weight, age, and level of activity. I am only 5 ft tall (1.524 M), over 23 and a female. If I eat 2000 kcals per day without purposeful exercise I will gain wei weight.

How many calories one can eat in a day depends on a multitude of factors: height, weight, age, and level of activity. I am only 5 ft tall (1.524 M), over 30 and a female. If I eat 2000 kcals per day without purposeful exercise I will gain weight. I may not be obese but will be overweight. My average kcal consumption for weight maintenance without exercise is closer to 1600 a day.

With that the best calculation for determining energy needs is the Mifflin- St Jeor equation. For women: 10 x wt (kg) + 6.25 X ht (cm) - 5 x age - 161. For men: 10 x wt (kg) + 6.25 X ht (cm) - 5 x age + 5. Take the result and multiply by an activity factor. 1.25-1.35 for sedentary, 1.35-1.45 for moderate activity, 1.45-1.55 for high activity. This is not perfect but has been found to be the best for estimating energy needs.

Yes but in general your guideline is the 2000 for women and 2500 for men, all based on average weight and height. A person is advice to adjust the calories according to their requirements since not all of us sit behind desks or work in construction sites.

sorry but there is something I have to correct,
the calories each person need per day depends on lots of things, but in general it's weight(kg) X 30, that will make 2700 calories enough for a 90 kg person. This means if you weight 90 kg and you take 2700 calories without any workouts , u r not going to gain or lose weight .
